Ultimately, Micah 6:8 is not a checklist for earning God's favor, but a beautiful description of the life that flows from receiving it. We can only do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly because Christ first did justice for us, showed us mercy, and humbled Himself to death on a cross. When we trust in Him, His Spirit works these qualities in us, not as a means of salvation, but as the joyful fruit of it.
