"The Strait Gate"

maxresdefault

Jesus was close to the end of His earthly life when He preached the words of Matthew 7:13-14 in the Sermon on the Mount.  He was reminding His followers to turn their backs on sinful, self-centered ways of living and to start living in full submission to Him.  Jesus warned, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23).  This is hard for us to do—in fact, it’s impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit.  This is why Jesus promised that when He returned to His Father, He would send His Holy Spirit to help us in our weaknesses.

  1. Two of my favorite verses that I have memorized years ago are Matthew 7:13-14 kjv "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
